Customer Reviews

Visiting from MI. What drew me here was the pint sized mason jars for glasses. My server, Katie, was great. Super personality, always checking to see if I needed anything. The food quality was amazing. Apparently I hit a special "ham off the bone". Overall taking everything into consideration, except my broken yoke, not, price, value, quality, service. SUPER. Will be back again when time allows. Highly recommend them.

Really good food. Perfect for right off the trail. I see why it's so busy all the time. Buffalo tenderloin was really good!

Great place to eat. Had breakfast one week it was great food. Had lunch the next time it was even better. Prices are the best I've seen in a long time. Also remember to tip your server. Also I've never been to place where food comes out quickly, even when they are packed.

I haven't been here in about 10 years and my husband and I recently moved to Portage so I decided to have us go here for breakfast to check it out again. I got the garden veggie Skillet and he got chocolate chip pancakes with sausage and eggs. Seriously such quick service, his drink never went empty (which is a huge deal for him)& our food came out so fast. We had to question whether it was our food because it was so quick! Everything was delicious and before we left the server even gave my husband a drink and a to-go cup. I wish I remembered her name, but she was amazing! Front desk where we paid was very nice and the lady asked if I wanted a bag for my food before I left. From today, definitely seems like Tate's place has all the little things that make up A good customer experience down. And our food was so good and fresh! It was a little expensive for being breakfast, but I know that inflation is real and honestly it's still worth it for the experience that we had. Highly recommend!

My girlfriends and I just had lunch there. The staff was friendly and attentive, food was tasty and well priced and the portions were large. We all needed boxes. Will return. Thank you Tates!

Always friendly staff and a convenient stop along the bike trails, perfect for a casual breakfast or lunch. There's a pleasant outdoor seating area, and the interior has that classic American diner feel. The meals are affordable, typically around $16 after tax and tip, with generous portions. My go-to order is the Irishman omelette with corned beef, a unique and delicious combo that's become my favorite. They offer plenty of other creative omelette options as well. The only thing I wish they had is an espresso machine, but that's just a personal preference.
